26 December Ride Report. Well thanks to Sheila, seven of us enjoyed a ride out to the beach at LLantwit Major on boxing day; sadly Sheila had to withdraw from the ride that she set up due to family commitments. We all toasted her health with teas and coffees and hot chocolates at the beachside cafe, which also does a mean bacon sandwich, I’m told! Before getting to our lunch stop, Nick (our substitute leader) took us on a nice and pretty quiet route out via Fairwater, St Fagans, Peterstone, then up towards Hensol Forest. (more…)

2007 has been a fantastic year for Cycle Cardiff. Thanks to everyone who’s been involved for making it all possible. As well as our rides, we’ve organized information stalls, a film festival, Doctor Bike sessions, and a range of events at meetings. We’ll be publishing a new list of rides for January to March in the next few days, again catering for a range of levels and interests. Also, watch this space for news on other events, including a reprise of Wheel to Reel – Cardiff’s Bicycle Film Festival, and a season of talks and debates about where next to take cycling in our city. This is a very exciting time for cycling, and we’re glad to be a part of it. We wish you all the best for the festive period, and very much hope that you will be involved in Cycle Cardiff in 2008.

Christmas lunch. Meet 11.0–11.15 on the Bute Park side of the Sophia Gardens footbridge. The focus is on the lunch, not the ride. It’s short so that anyone, including families can attend. We’ll head down the Taff Trail and pass around the wetlands. Ending in the Bay Area, we’ll arrive at Kemi’s Cafe for a Christmas lunch. No need to book— they don’t take bookings anyway, so we’re just going to wing it. Find your own way back/home. Easy. Contact: Nick Canham Tel: 029 20222016 / 07949 389550.
