Sully and Cosmeston Lakes. Meet 10.00–10.15 on the Bute Park side of the Sophia Gardens footbridge. Out via Llandough and along Sully Lane to the Captain’s Wife at Sully Island. To Cosmeston Lakes Country Park (refreshment stop) and back via Penarth. Moderate: 25 km (17 miles). Steep hill out of Cardiff but otherwise fairly easy riding. A designer at UWIC has come up with a new bicycle stand to deal with some of the common security problems experienced by cyclists. As all Cardiff cyclists will be aware, parking in the city is a bit patchy, and some of the stand formats are less than adequate, in particular the curly-wurly stands. (more…)

5 May – Ride Report. The weather was with us for our Bank Holiday ride. Having met at Sophia Gardens Footbridge, we set off for what turned out to be a tour of pub car parks, with the ride heading off towards Lisvane for our first regrouping at The Griffin. (more…)
